Arch House Australia is family owned. It was founded by Khyber Himmat, who qualified as a carpenter in 2005 and still leads the design work.
How it started
The business began when construction kept running through the pandemic and most other things stopped. It started as carpentry work and moved into manufacturing its own products.
What it makes now falls into two halves that share a workshop. One is commercial joinery: reception desks, office and shop fitouts, doors and panelling. The other is event props, made to order for hire companies and stylists.
Both halves are the same skill. A fluted arch and a fluted reception desk are the same problem, at different sizes.
How we work
We manufacture what we sell. Work is built in our Melbourne workshop rather than ordered in and badged.
We say no. If something will not build the way it has been drawn, or will not last the way it is being used, you hear that at quoting stage.
We build for the tenth use. Hire stock and reception counters have the same problem: the first day is easy and the hundredth is the test.
